Senior DevOps/Systems Engineer
Your new company
A leading organisation in the utilities sector is seeking a Senior DevOps/Systems Engineer to join their team in Christchurch. You will provide a strong understanding of Linux and open source systems, and thrive in a high pressure environment where your skills will give you the chance to make your mark within the IST strategy and road map at a company that is at the forefront of technology in New Zealand.
Your new role
As an experienced Systems Engineer you will be required to
- Ensure all services are supported before they go live through actions such as system design consulting, capacity planning and developing software platform standards
- Coordinate applications management in cooperation with the Infrastructure Services team
- Demonstrate resilience and ability to work with multiple personalities including key partners, vendors and other stakeholders
- Respond to system incidents and restore service with real time systems and escalate to substitute support groups as needed
What you'll need to succeed
An ideal candidate for this role with have experience with:
- Scripting, automation and a good understanding of development methodologies
- Expert at Linux and open source systems
- Creating, building, designing and maintaining monitoring systems
- Proven ability to prioritise and manage workloads effective
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
