The Role
An exciting opportunity exists for a Project Manager with a track record in implementing Information, data and/or knowledge systems. You will be responsible for managing the implementation of organisational Research Data Management framework. This is a unique opportunity initially involving implementing an organisation wide sample tracking system, e-lab notebooks along with developing an organisational wide metadata model. Later on you will be involved in implementing data management plans and policies, coordinating efforts to understand and document research domains specific data management and storage requirements, developing research data classification system and implementing a research data repository. This is a varied role requiring both technical capability in understanding complex issues of data management with strong project management skills.
This is a 12 month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension and will be based at our Lincoln campus.
Skills Required
- In-depth knowledge of data governance and data management concepts
- Ability to lead and facilitate discussions in shaping and implementing plans for research data management across the organization
- Significant Project Management experience
- Experience in implementing data/information/knowledge systems
- Experience in leading organisational culture change
- Demonstrated ability of managing multiple priorities effectively and efficiently
- Demonstrated problem solving abilities
- Ability to perform under tight deadlines
Ideally you will have experience working in a similar role either in research environment or commercial sector. With a 'can-do' attitude you will have exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail, interpersonal and relationship building skills.
