We are bolstering our team by bringing in more experienced engineers to join the Azure team.
You'll work with our Azure customers to ensure that:
1. Performance is optimised
2. Availability is maximised
3. Their environments are secured
4. Every dollar spent has value.
5. They continually innovate and improve.
You'll also work with our customers to ensure that we are bringing the constantly evolving features and benefits of Azure to them. You'll provide design recommendations for leveraging advanced features, and remain one step ahead of our customers through continuous education, attendance to conferences and events, and participation in Azure focused user groups.
You'll need to have:
- An intense interest in Azure, and public cloud in general at scale
- Demonstrable experience with Azure IaaS, PaaS and ARM
- Significant powershell experience
- A natural inclination for automation and orchestration
You'll be more likely to work with us if you also have some competency in some of the following:
- Python
- JavaScript
- REST API request and response understanding
- SQL

- Common Internet Building blocks such as DNS, TCP/IP, load balancing, Firewalls etc.
You will ideally be certified in Azure, or intend to become certified. We understand that there are very few people who are expert in Azure, and we are fully prepared to train the right person, which means you'll also need the following character attributes:
- Tenacity
- Determination
- Drive to succeed
- A great sense of humour
- Preference for constant change
- Ability to work long hours on occasion
- Willingness to participate in an on-call roster
- Willingness and appetite for constant learning
- Acceptance of other cultures (our customers are truly global)
The role is a hands-on technical role operating large scale public cloud services. You'll enjoy taking manual process and building automation and run-books to streamline and optimise delivery. You'll become the bridge that can translate between dev and ops, and be valuable to both.
You'll get to work with a great team of really clever people, working with the latest technology in IT, solving problems for some of the worlds most innovative companies. The prospects for this role are limited only by your motivation, capability and determination.
If this sounds like you, please apply for the role. Note that you must be able to speak and write English fluently, with fluency in other languages also valued. We highly prefer people already present in New Zealand to interview. If you are exceptionally well suited we may consider sponsorship for immigration purposes.
