The Company
My client operates in the IT/Education sector and is a rapidly evolving, young company, which has been charged with enabling the effective use of technology and supporting the transformation of all NZ schools to technology-based learning environments. The Crown owned company generates a mix of commercial and social outcomes through the provision of a managed network, running over high-speed fibre, and a digital content and services platform to help educators and students navigate the complexities of learning in the 21st century. More than 90% of the schools in New Zealand use my client’s internet network, connecting over 700,000 users.
The culture is relaxed and non-hierarchical, but at the same time has a professional feel with a can do attitude. There are approximately 60 staff across Auckland and Wellington - with the head office in Auckland, set in modern open plan offices
The Role
The role of Accounts payable admin support is varied. You will report to the Head of Finance and be part of a small finance team that work closely together. Your role will be responsible for:
- Managing the Accounts payable email inbox
- Ensuring all invoices are appropriately approved
- Liaising with suppliers on queries and reconciling discrepancies
- Raising Accounts receivable invoices & liaising with debtors (low volumes)
- Helping prepare month end finance packs
- Administration duties primarily around HR processes such as new employee induction, running employee departure processes, managing the staff directory and internal websites
- Administration facilities; maintaining leases, liaising with cleaners and other contractors
- Managing taxi charge cards/vouchers
- Other ad hoc duties.
Your Profile
To be considered for this role we are looking for an individual who has experience in general accounts but is keen to learn, is adept with systems (any Xero experience will be a bonus), is reliable and someone that has great attention to detail. Culture fit is very important for this organisation so a can do attitude and a social bubbly demeanour will be advantageous
