The Business Insights team within the Marketing and Product Division is a centralised analytical resource.  Our role is to generate value add, actionable, data driven insights for the business to support fact based decision making across Sovereign.

The Manager, Data Office has enterprise wide responsibility for delivering data governance initiatives, a key pillar underpinning our growing Data Analytics and Digital ambitions.  In this role you will be accountable for identifying opportunities and delivering practical data solutions and initiatives that tangibly improve the maturity of Sovereign’s data analytics and digital capabilities.

In this role you will be encouraged to “Think Globally, Act Locally”, and empowered to establish and lead initiatives to improve our data outcomes.  Your responsibilities will include;

  • Establishing data quality capabilities including monitoring and reporting solutions and leading data quality remediation
  • Maintaining and establishing new reference data management capabilities
  • Establishing and managing data definition capabilities (data dictionaries, metadata management)
  • Assessing or auditing controls in data and analytical processes, recommending and delivering control and process improvements
  • Supporting data modelling

The key to success lies in being able to understand our business, pilot and incubate data management initiatives, and then scale to enterprise wide frameworks that encapsulate sustainable, practical best practices.

About You:
We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic and experienced data management specialist who can competently and confidently engage across our business.  You will be a technical and domain expert in data management / data governance, being able to act both ‘hands-on tools’ and leading projects, and will have a commercial lens on your work and be an experienced influencer of change.
