Our client is a group of companies providing leading merchandise in the New Zealand and Australian markets. They have strategic working relationships and benchmarking opportunities with major players in the global market. The group operates from multiple locations within New Zealand and in Australia.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the role of IT manager is to be responsible and accountable for ensuring that the computer and network systems for the Group are fit for purpose and run smoothly to meet operational requirements within budgetary limits. You will supervise the implementation and maintenance of the company’s technology needs. Experience working on ERP systems is highly desirable.
The ideal candidate will strategically lead the IT function of the organisation recommending and implementing ongoing improvement.
Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
You will be dynamic by nature, willing to get your hands dirty and aim to make a real difference to the growth and development of the team and organisation to ensure best practice.
You will possess excellent knowledge and experience of staff management, technical management, project management, information analysis and of hardware/software systems, including ERP experience (Netsuite experience will be advantageous)
Hands-on experience with networks, network administration, and network installation will be beneficial.
The opportunity is based in Lower Hutt, close to the train station, and free car parking.

- Manage information technology and computer systems, including ERP systems and data storage
- Provide effective IT user support, managing and reporting on their requests through an effective helpdesk system
- Plan, organize, control and evaluate IT and electronic data operations
- Manage IT staff (and contractors) by recruiting, training and coaching employees, communicating job expectations and appraising their performance
- Developing and implementing IT policy, training documentation and best practice guides for the Group
- Ensure security of data, network access, and backup systems
- Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions over time
- Conduction regular system audits
- Preserve assets, information security and control structures
- Manage IT activity within the annual budget and ensure cost-effectiveness.
