We're looking for a Data Platforms Practice Lead to deliver, scale and evolve the Data Platforms that underpin our strategic capability around data and analytics. You'll be leading a team of multi-skilled data engineers building our cloud data stores (warehouse and lake), visualisation and presentation layers, and imparting structure and context to data by building re-usable data sets that support the self-service environment and wider analytics community. You'll be managing the day to day activities of the Data Platforms team coupled with the promotion of efficient management of information within business units and embedding a culture of data driven decision making by raising the data literacy and self-service capability.

At Genesis, we work in an Agile environment and this is a pivotal role where you'll be informing the backlog, prioritising streams of work and building the architectural runway. You'll be the point of reference for complex implementations and troubleshooting and we need someone who is knowledgeable and fluent with the capabilities of the Data Platforms and the adjacent Data Science practice.

To be in the running for this role, you'll need the following skills and experience:

• Ten years' experience in industries with complex and diverse data landscape.
• A relevant tertiary qualification in IT or a related discipline.
• Proven experience with one or both Microsoft and Oracle Technology Stacks.
• Conversant with Azure Cloud Services.
• Be able to demonstrate ongoing education and skills development in technology.
• Experience or knowledge of Agile delivery frameworks.
• Demonstrable stakeholder, vendor and contract management skills.
• Ideally, you'll also have experience with IoT and real-time event processing platforms.

As well as the above, you'll be a natural with stakeholders, building relationships quickly and maintaining them with ease and you'll be happy to be hands on when required. Importantly, you'll promote good design patterns and practices whilst establishing self-service insight capabilities for the organisation using platforms like Microsoft PowerBI, Report Server, and R/Shiny. You'll have a collaborative and engaging style, a strong understanding of commercial drivers - particularly around customer analytics, and adept negotiation skills will enable you to work alongside the wider business to amplify the value of reusable data sets and actionable analytics.
