Detail information about job Writer - Full time and Part time positions. Terms and conditions vacancy
- Do you want to play an important role in helping New Zealanders understand the state of our environment?
- Are you an experienced writer who can translate complex information into content which can be understood by a wide audience?
As a Writer for Environmental Reporting your role will involve translating information from a range of sources, often technical / scientific, into reports which are able to be understood by everyday New Zealanders for one of MfE's highest impact work programmes.
The Environmental Reporting programme is responsible for delivering trusted, quality reports on the state of the environment to support decision-makers and help shift New Zealanders to action. You will write a variety of reports across different domains e.g. land, air, fresh water. The first report you'll be responsible for writing is Environment Aotearoa 2019, the ‘flagship' report of the environment reporting suite which summarises all environmental domains into one ‘synthesis' report.
Reports are legislatively required to be delivered within defined agreed timeframes (one every six months) so you'll be an effective operator in a busy and at times high pressure delivery environment.
We are seeking two people from now until the end of May 2019. One role will be fulltime. The second role is 0.6 FTE or 3-days per week. The end date for the second role may is negotiable.
In addition to being a competent senior analyst with finely honed writing skills, you'll have:
- Strong interpersonal skills and able to work with a diverse range of specialists and stakeholders
- Strong quality review skills
- a fine eye for detail
