We have been chosen one of the service delivery partners to work on Chorus Network, UCG for Auckland, Visionstream for Dunedin and Invercargill. We are seeking Telecommunications Cabler (Fibre Optic) to help build and maintain our Clients fiber optic networks to be assigned in Auckland Area or in Dunedin / Invercargill. We look to fill fulltime position with a minimum 6 months Fibre Optic experience or Fibre Optic Technician Certification certified by FOA Fibre Optic Association
JOB OVERVIEW
Telecommunications Cabler (Fibre Optic) also known as Fibre Optic Technician for general Fibre optics applications work both inside and outside of the buildings, offices and domestic premises and are responsible for the installation of the new Fibre to home/ repair and provisioning (FTH) and Ultrafast broadband (UFB) for the customer experience of the new high speed Internet services.
Job Duties:
Assuming a technician, you will be responsible for following duties and should process
Planning and carrying out the installation of fibre for residential and business customers.
Requirements for the role/s are as follows:
•Minimum of 6 months experience in Telecommunications is required
•Be able to work unsupervised and within a team
•Strong communication skills - orally and in writing
•Be computer literate and have practical computer skills for connecting hardware
•Have a full drivers license
•Be fit and healthy
•The Health, Safety and Well-being of our staff and those we work around is of utmost importance to us and a key element of this role, the ability to display this on a daily, ongoing basis is essential.
•Efficient in all aspects of Telecommunications network i.e. NGA / UFB fibre cable laying, blowing, splicing, trenching, troubleshooting
Cabling experience in commercial, residential, MDU, SDU & ROW.Chorus standards knowhow (NGA B & C for SDU and MDU)
•Knowledge of NGA designs & Asbuilts
•IT Study Level 5 -7 study is preferable.
