The company is a well-established manufacturer that is a household name in New Zealand.

Located in Otahuhu the company is currently undertaking an ambitious IT technology transformation that will see them utilising advanced concepts in Big Data, Web and Mobile.

This is an exciting time to join and become involved in these transformational projects.

As a next step in their process they are now looking for an experienced Scrum Master.

As a result of a series of acquisitions the company has a complex IT systems landscape which includes legacy systems. After a review of how the Business and IT currently work together they have decided that moving to an Agile Methodology in order delivery capability and keep the company running in this landscape is best.

1. You will be the Scrum Master of a Squad. A Squad consists of members that share a common business purpose and deliverable. Squad members come from all parts of the business to form a self-organising team of experts in your product area. Collaboratively your Squad will possess the required tools and skill sets to achieve business goals.
2. To give an idea of the type of work the Squad covers, it includes integration of a legacy replacing post-modern ERP with using a cutting edge Transactional Semantic Data Lake. A major and fascinating undertaking.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES/KEY RESULTS

• Strongly serving and supporting the Product Owner and Squad in their quest to do everything possible to delight customers
• Providing all support to the team using a servant leadership style and leading by example.
• Guiding and coaching:
o The Squad and organisation on how to use Agile practices and values to delight customers
o The Squad on how to get the most out of self-organisation, and using that to fill in the intentional gaps left in the Agile framework
• Removing impediments or guiding the Squad to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment
• Facilitating getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work
• Facilitating discussions, decision making, and conflict resolution
• Supporting and educating the Product Owner, especially with respect to refining and managing the product backlog
• Supporting the Product Owner in the creation of Project Initiation artifacts

To qualify for this role you will have:
• 5+ years experience working with Scrum, Kanban or other Agile methodologies
• 3+ years successfully operating as a Scrum Master
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent certification
• Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, collaboration, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement,
empowerment and increasing transparency
• Knowledge of numerous well documented patterns and techniques for filling the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (e.g. numerous
burndown techniques, numerous retrospective formats, handing bugs etc)
• Ability to create high quality documentation

Preferred
• Experience in a retail, manufacturing or logistics environment
• Experience being on multiple scrum teams in a variety of different contexts (different team, sizes, organisations, cultures etc)
• Track record of continued and recent education in the Agile space
• Knowledge and/or experience in successful Agile techniques: Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games etc
