Movio is experiencing major growth at a global level and has a need for a full-time Auckland-based Security Engineer.

As Security Engineer your main purpose is to protect sensitive data and systems from infiltration and cyber-attacks, help safeguard & protect Movio’s computer systems, networks, and information by carrying out security measures. You will be on the front line of protecting Movio assets from threats. 

Responsibilities will include:

Security

• Manage security operations (policy generation & implementation)
• Develop & implement a clear and practical information security strategy for the company in conjunction with others
• Work closely with the development team to assist with the organisations security architecture
• Proactively monitor the security of all development and production environments through the deployment of fit for purpose security tools
• Develop or implement open-source/third-party tools to assist in detection, prevention and analysis of security threats
• Identify and define system security requirements
• Execute incident response protocols, including steps to minimise the impact and then conducting a technical and forensic investigation into how the breach happened and the extent of the damage
• Research security trends and current practice, recommending new initiatives and approaches
• Mentoring and coaching, especially development teams
• Keep abreast of global, security risks, threats and trends, constantly updating the security strategy to leverage new technology and threat information
• Installation and use of firewalls, data encryption and other security products and procedures
• Ensure that Movio knows as much as possible, as quickly as possible about security incidents
• Configure and troubleshoot security infrastructure devices
• Engineer, implement and monitor security measures for the protection of Movio’s computer systems, networks and information

To be considered for this role you will need experience with:

• Cloud-computing services (AWS, GCE, DigitalOcean)
• Network security, networking technologies & monitoring tools
• Information Security, Audit, Risk, and/or Compliance
• Continuous deployment in a virtualization based infrastructure

• Continuous integration tools (Jenkins, TeamCity)

• Database systems (MariaDB, MySQL, ElasticSearch, Cassandra)

• Messaging systems (Apache Kafka, zmq)

• Distributed version control systems
• Linux (Ubuntu)
