  • Lead by example, use coaching skills to improve throughput and deliver outcomes
  • Work out of our beautiful new head offices in central Wellington

Who is Flux?

At Flux Federation, we create marvellous experiences and products for energy teams and their customers all around the world. Flux is now a team of 140+ developers, designers, product owners, agile coaches, doers and thinkers.  Owned by Meridian Energy, we are the power behind PowerShop across New Zealand, Australia and the UK and although we are a technology company, people are at the heart of everything we do. We discover new ways for customers to experience energy, and new ways for the people who work at utility companies to manage how they sell power.  And we are growing - fast!

This is a role full of variety and some of the important things you will be doing include:

  • Coach the delivery and product teams on the principles and values of an agile and growth mindset.

  • Help teams deliver customer and business value as early as possible by improving feedback loops.

  • Assist the team and product owner in requirements gathering, user story writing and delivery reporting.

  • Help create a culture of continuous improvement through agile practices, roles and responsibilities.

  • Ensure team goals align with business strategies and roadmaps.

  • Tight collaboration with the agile team.

  • Contribute to the measurement and reporting on Flux’s delivery efficiency.

  • Help us to grow a healthy, constructive, egalitarian, respectful, fun and productive culture. As a scrum master here, your viewpoint contributes to the shaping of who we are. Make that an awesome place please.

What you need to bring to the role:

  • A deep understanding of the mindset, principles and values of Agile; and an application of these in practice with brilliant facilitation techniques. This role is a Scrum Master first and foremost.

  • Your ability to coach and train teams, including a strong commitment to collective personal and professional development and ongoing learning.

  • An eagerness to contribute, learn and grow as a team; with modesty and flexibility about how we do so.

  • Someone who puts the team first ahead of any ego.

  • A tenacity to chase and foster great outcomes for the team and for Flux.

Why you’d want to work with us:

  • Supportive and flexible environment.

  • You have the freedom to experiment within our day-to-day practices while delivering quality, innovative products.

  • You like a relaxed work environment and flexibility. Everyone has a laptop so you have the freedom to work from a beanbag or a desk, a couch or even your kitchen table at home.

  • You like fun. There's beer, wine and non-alcoholic drinks on Fridays, great coffee, soy milk, table tennis and a pie warmer. We've got knitters, bakers and musicians, as well as runners, cyclists and weightlifters. Whatever you're into will add to the team.

If you think you have what it takes to be our next Scrum Master, Agile Champ and awesome Fluxster, then send your CV and add a cover letter telling us why you think you will be a good match not only for our role but for Flux in general!  Applications close 5pm, Tuesday 31 July.
