  • Looking for a new adventure?
  • 6-month long volunteering assignment in Tonga - costs covered
  • Personal and professional development opportunity

You’ll be working with Tonga Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship Inc. (TYEE), a not-for-profit youth organisation. TYEE was established in response to the high unemployment rate amongst Tongan youth, and focuses on upskilling youth ages 18-29.

There are increasing numbers of school leavers who are unable to secure employment. TYEE also assists aspiring entrepreneurs in establishing their own businesses. The aim is to empower them with relevant information and support them in starting their businesses. A core objective is to build the capacity of youth by providing work readiness and life skills. As the ideal candidate, you will play an active role in the achievement of this objective.

This assignment will focus on training TYEE facilitators to ensure a sustainable project. You will work alongside the Facilitators to set up and deliver on-the-job ICT training and mentoring. The assignment will initially involve training in preparation for the International Computer Driver’s license (ICDL). Currently, there are no official ICDL testing centers available in Tonga. Establishing effective training in this would provide a key breakthrough for youth in enabling them to gain vital qualifications. This assignment will contribute to expanding TYEE’s objectives to better serve Tongan youth.

Make a significant contribution to the empowerment of a new generation of entrepreneurs.

We are looking for a volunteer with:

  • A qualification in IT/ICT or relevant professional experience
  • Experience providing on the job training and mentoring in an ICT role
  • Strong understanding of the Microsoft Office suite, building websites and data management

This is an 1-year assignment based in Kiribati.
