About the business

Since 1994, our client, New Plymouth based MC Communications has led the way in providing a total communications solution to sophisticated commercial clients across Taranaki.

Many of our clients are in the Petrochemical sector, running offshore Oil and Gas platforms.  They need absolute reliability of data and voice communications and we deliver this flawlessly.   

Other sectors serviced include remote locations and sophisticated organisations requiring absolute security on their communications.

About the role

The Telecommunications Engineer role requires you to program, install, commission, diagnose faults and repair a wide range of equipment.

One day you'll be whisked on a helicopter out to an oil platform (we can help you achieve your BOSEIT (Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training) certificate) and the next day you may be on a mountain installing a repeater station to assist remote farmers.  There's also a lot of customer office installations, programming, tuning and fault-finding to be done.

Ideally, you'll also be great customer facing, dealing with the locals and solving problems.  You'll be rewarded for increasing your chargeable hours to our clients.  You'll be on-call at times and able to respond to customer needs at odd hours.

Your experience to date should enable you to work with much of : 

Radio Telephones, Repeaters, RF Antennas & Coaxial Systems. Telephone Systems, GPS systems, RF Data Systems, RF Test Equipment, Data Cabling, WiFi systems, Marine Electronics and Fibre Optical Cabling.

We supply and work on: Motorola, Tait, Hytera, Radio Activity, Icom, GME, Vertex and more

PABX Systems include: Siemens/Unify, Samsung, Mitel/Aastra, 2Talk Cloud Solutions.

Digital Microwave (Wireless Backhaul Radio Systems) include: Cambrium Networks and Ubituiti.

Digital RT Application Partners include: TRBOnet, Omnitronics, Zetron
