Think - Airbnb for heavy construction machinery. We are working with a startup who enable construction contractors to hire and supply heavy construction machinery and get more from machinery.

Our client is a promising young business (operating for two years) and based in Auckland, New Zealand. There are eight employees currently - all highly motivated and talented individuals working in a strong and dynamic team environment.

Their mission is to build a work environment where they are able to create impact in their roles. They are focused around building partnerships with construction network service providers and building contractors and driving maximum project efficiency. This is achieved with the use of data-informed services powered by ES Track - an advanced mixed-fleet IoT (internet of things) telematics system.
Ultimately, EquipmentShare's vision is to create the trusted platform for building network partnerships in construction.

About the role: 

You will participate in software development lifecycle activities including: 
  • Business process identification, analysis, design and ongoing refinement 
  • Software evaluation, configuration, development, integration and review 
  • All aspects of software application testing 
  • Software application support and maintenance 
  • You will support internal and external customers by contributing to the delivery of high quality software applications that align with EquipmentShare’s policy and procedures.

  • Participate in the identification, analysis, design and ongoing refinement of business processes that align with  EquipmentShare’s policy and guidelines, the priorities of business needs and to ensure continuity of service and support. 
  • Participate in the identification, analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, support, maintenance and enhancement of software  applications  that automate new and established  processes. 
  • You  will  ensure  that  the  services  you  participate  in  delivering  meet availability,  reliability,  security,  quality,  and  recoverability  expectations  within  acceptable  budgets and schedules. 
  • Gain a sound understanding of business processes and strategies and their alignment to your software application activities. 
  • Contribute to the maintenance of metrics pertaining to your business analysis and software implementation activities. 
  • Understand and contribute to the achievement of all relevant operational service level agreements. 
  • Establish and maintain an awareness and commitment to continuous improvement across the activities you are engaged in. 
  • Develop  and  maintain  effective  relationships  with  other members  of  the  wider  EquipmentShare company and provide support to other team members to assist in the achievement of overall business goals.  
  • Participate actively in the personal development process.  
  • Actively pursue and gain self-development to enhance personal performance and delivery. 
  • Report in a timely manner any operational risk that you observe in the course of your duties.

  • Technical Skills  
  • Well-developed knowledge of how to review, analyse and evaluate business systems and user needs. 
  • Document requirements using relevant models, define scope and objectives and formulate systems to parallel overall business strategies. 
  • Well-developed knowledge of a variety of computer programming languages and software applications.  
  • Clear understanding of SDLC activities  and processes with practical experience in core activities (software development and testing).  
  • Broad exposure to industry standard SDLC methodologies.
  • Able to identify gaps
  • General industry knowledge of IT and of relevant latest technology trends.  
  • Appropriate financial management knowledge gained in a systems environment.  
  • Sound verbal & written communication skills.

Role-Related Experience  
  • Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience Microsoft SQL experience strongly preferred 
  • Ability to impact operations and effect change without being confrontational 
  • Detail oriented, analytical and inquisitive 
  • Ability to work independently and with others 
  • Extremely organised with strong time-management skills.
