Senior graphic designer with a nose for leadership? Want to spend your days among imaginary worlds? Weta Workshop is looking for a rock star who can take our brand to creative new heights!
Your mission: Develop and direct design for the Weta Workshop Masterbrand and its myriad of sub-brands and departments. Cohesive. Dynamic. Exceptional. All words woven into your design DNA, and good thing too - because you'll be a crucial shade in our diverse palette, ensuring that our rapidly expanding company is represented to the highest creative standard across both print and digital.
From packaging and presentations to posters, promotions, and far beyond, it's four seasons of Cool Stuff in one day - and with the help of our dedicated graphic design team, you'll thread it all together under one Weta Workshop-shaded umbrella. An umbrella that you'll wield with a flourish, as the guardian of our visual brand identity.
What you'll do:
- Ensure the Weta Workshop House of Brands is cohesive, dynamic and always exceptional
- Work with stakeholders to create effective and creative graphic design solutions
- Provide direction and mentor the Junior Graphic Designers in the Media & Communications team
You'll need:
- 7+ years' graphic design experience across both screen and print, including web, print, video and advertising
- Expertise in current graphic design practices, web standards, and design and web production software
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Experience as a leader and mentor
You'll also have:
- Expertise in graphic applications such as Adobe Creative Suite
- Excellent web design skills
- Strong story-telling and visual communication skills
- Strong layout and typography skills, and sharp attention to detail
- Solid illustration skills
- Ability to concept, develop and create a wide variety of creative assets (print, web, advertising, collateral, etc.) to support marketing and business objectives
- Strong understanding of branding, layout, colour theory and typography in both print and digital media
- A knowledge of customer-focussed design and UX practices and principals
- Strong understanding of art/design fundamentals and core principles (space, form, light, surface, line, colour)
- Ability to work as part of a team and to think creatively and solve problems
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
