It is critical to the success of my client’s business that their projects are properly Engineered, accurately drawn and clearly communicated to the client, factory and installation contractors with clear, well specified drawings to ensure work profitability.

This well-established organisation who specialise in the architectural design of Façade are on the lookout for a new Design Manager. As the successful candidate, you will carry out the design work and oversee the production of drawings, whilst also paying close attention to the engineering rof each project.

A willing attitude and practical aptitude is required, as is the ability to work well with customers, management, sales staff, fellow employees, sub-contractors and logistics providers.

Your key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Liaise with salesmen/project manager around project detailing and competitive advantage strategy on a project by project basis

• Consider costs, savings, buildability, and architectural intent when finalising a design and producing drawings

• Oversee production of shop drawings for the project manager and factory

• Provide design & engineering support for sales, marketing, and project management staff

• Liaise with contract Engineers to get Producer statements where required

Extra things to keep in mind:

• Manage design staff, sub-contractors, free lancers, engineers and other design resources effectively

• Lead with enthusiasm and integrity while displaying good time-management skills and the ability to work under pressure

• This role is a full-time position and includes the responsibility of a wide variety of tasks. Due to the varied and often spontaneous demands, extended working hours and occasional weekends may be necessary as required to satisfy customer demands, personal goals, and/or management expectations

• Be prepared to attend occasional pre-sale meetings in support of sales team
