School of Design, College of Creative Arts
Wellington

Applications are invited for a two-year, full-time position as Design Kaihāpai at Ngā Pae Māhutonga, The School of Design, within the College of Creative Arts (CoCA) on the Massey University Wellington Campus.

The Design Kaihāpai will be responsible for strategically developing, coordinating, and administering a comprehensive recruitment program for undergraduate and graduate students for our full range of design programme offerings with the goal of increasing the number, and diversity, of students that the school attracts.

With a legacy of over a century in design education, Ngā Pae Māhutonga is recognized as one of the top 100 design schools in the world. The School provides an immersive, student-centred, learning environment that fosters research and innovation through studio-based creative practice. The contemporary portfolio of courses, faculty of internationally recognised leaders in design research and practice, and world-class facilities provide an ideal environment for students to realise their full creative potential.

This role presents a unique opportunity to develop the design education market across New Zealand, with the goal of significantly increasing the school's visibility within secondary schools, employers, community groups, iwi and hapū, and converting that interest into new student enrolments for Massey University.

The candidate must be confident and self-reliant, a strong presenter, an excellent communicator, and someone who can represent the School of Design internally and externally. You will be passionate about evangelizing the transformative role of higher education, and the opportunities that design thinking and making brings to make the world a better place.

As you will often be on the move, attending career and programme specific events, it is imperative that you have flexibility around hours of work and mobility. You will be qualified with a passion for people and design, and a Bachelor's degree or a minimum of two year's experience developing marketing, communication or recruitment strategies.
