We are looking for a team member with a passion for urban design, to join our Auckland practice. You may have come from an architecture or landscape background.

Context is a 65+ architectural practice operating nationally from offices in Auckland and Christchurch. We are well known for our work in the affordable housing and social housing space and also have a strong reputation for retail, interiors, hospitality, and commercial sectors. We are passionate about people centred places and are known for being professional, approachable and fun to work with.

The primary role is to create contextual analysis, placemaking strategies and deliver master planning for communities as well as to provide specialist services of urban design review internally

About you:

  • tertiary qualification in urban design or other relevant degree
  • strong graphic design skills with experience pulling together complex graphical reports using adobe software packages
  • an architectural graduate with at least 4 years’ full time NZ practice experience or
  • landscape architecture qualification with at least 4 years full time NZ practice experience or
  • proven history of successful output and in meeting deadlines
  • experience in managing several projects at one time
  • a desire to embrace our immersive digital and interactive technology
  • an open and collaborative "can do" attitude
  • a client-focused ethos, where you do what you say you will do, and go the extra mile to deliver
  • a people person
  • you will know that the detail matters, and be systematic and disciplined in your approach
  • great communication skills
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong technical and computer skills

Your responsibilities will include:

  • client liaison and briefing
  • working with large consultant teams and responding to multiple requests from different consultants
  • liaison and relationship building with regulatory authorities
