In order to assist in capitalising on these assets, Toi Ohomai is seeking a dynamic and progressive professional to coordinate our global initiatives and grow our international profile and reputation.

With a team of 7 Academic Service Advisor based at our main hubs in Rotorua & Tauranga, the Academic Services Team Leader role can be primarily based at either the Mokoia & Windermere campuses in the Bay of Plenty, and is expected to spread their time in each site evenly. The role is both stimulating and multi-dimensional.  Reporting to the Student Administration & Services Manager this role will contribute significantly to Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology by:

 The skills, experience and qualifications required for this role include:

  • Four to five years’ experience leading and managing a medium sized team, preferably in the education sector
  • Experience in supervising staff with proven ability in building strong team culture of service excellence and continuous improvement
  • Experience in a service environment; and proven ability in service excellence development.
  • Experience in the effective administration of corporate systems, (including working with complex databases)
  • Exposure to working in a regulated environment
  • Experience in working with (and leading development of) systems, policies and processes and procedures
  • Experience in successfully working with and maintaining quality data, information and records
  • Degree level tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships and engage staff and stakeholders
  • Proven ability to manage change effectively in a complex organisation
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively and analytically
  • Proven ability to influence and negotiate successful outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a high standard of work quality, ethics and compliance
  • Having some project management experience is desirable
