ABOUT THE COMPANY
Capital and Coast DHB (CCDHB) is located centrally in Wellington and has the equivalent of around 4,300 full time staff, making us a major employer in the Wellington region. We are also the leading provider of a number of specialist services, including neurosurgery, oncology, neonatal intensive care, and specialised mental health services, for the upper South and lower North Islands, a population of about 900,000 people. Our DHB has an annual budget of more than $1 billion, which we use to deliver health services directly and contract external providers to provide care, such as general practices, rest homes and pharmacists.
CCDHB operates two hospitals – Wellington Regional Hospital in Newtown and Kenepuru Hospital in Porirua – as well as the Kapiti Health Centre in Paraparaumu.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Children’s Health Service at Wellington Hospital is seeking an administration specialist to provide support to the Operations Manager, and the Clinical Leader of Paediatrics. This role also supports the rest of the Children’s Health team. We require someone who has initiative, can work autonomously, and enjoys a wide variety of tasks.
DUTIES
- Diary and calendar management
- Email management
- Meeting coordination including agenda preparation, minute taking and distribution of meeting papers.
- Travel arrangements
- Drafting correspondence
- Invoices and expenses
These are a few of the everyday duties but the job is not limited to the above. We need a smart, friendly, resilient candidate; who can demonstrate:

- Ability to coordinate work schedules and deadlines and work under pressure
- A high level of initiative and an ability to work independently
- Flexibility

- Intermediate to advanced Word and Excel skills
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Organised individual with at least 2 years administration/PA experience
