Inland Revenue (IR) is transforming. We're making it easier for customers to do business with us; we're listening and working collaboratively with customers, agencies across government, and in the private sector as we design new processes and services.

About the role

IR's Information & Intelligence Services (IIS) group develop intelligence and insights, partnering across IR to deliver customer-centric strategies which improve outcomes for our customers, bettering the lives of everyday NZ'ers.

As a Workflow and Internal Engagement Co-ordinator within IIS, you will play a key role in embedding a centralised workflow process, ensuring information flows smoothly between our Customer Compliance groups and our data/analytics teams.  You'll be assessing the impact of new initiatives in the work programme enabling prioritisation of work, and a connected approach.

You'll form strong relationships across the organisation as you engage with key stakeholders and the broader teams.  These relationships will help you form a bigger picture of each area's needs, pressures, and pain points.  You're the central point within the IIS network, asking the right questions, ensuring requests reach the right people. You'll provide support and advice as needed, as the new process becomes familiar.

This role has a broad touch, and you'll regularly need to move into the detail, then out to see the wider context.

What you'll need to bring to the role:

• Previous experience working collaboratively across business areas to achieve outcomes, preferably within a large or complex environment.
• Strong customer advisory skills, knowing how to approach each situation to influence the best outcome.
• A background in co-ordination and liaison.  You're someone who can see the bigger picture, understand your audience, and provide the appropriate level of response.
• A love of data and analytics, and the interest to learn our world.
• The initiative to proactively identify needs, the savvy to triage a busy workload, and the drive to follow through and deliver. 
• Working in ambiguity doesn't faze you
• Experience working with Jira, or a similar workflow tool would be advantageous, but is not essential.
