About the business and the role

Employing two core staff, four contract staff and 100+ volunteers, Age Concern Tauranga is a recognised not-for-profit organisation providing information, advice and services to support the needs of the older person.

Based at our office on Fraser St, this is a part time six month contract position with up to 30 hours per week from Monday to Friday 8.30am to 2.30pm.

We require an experienced office support person to ensure the administration systems and processes run smoothly and efficiently to enable the general manager to focus on business development.

The successful candidate will be self-motivated, proactive and have well developed communication skills – written and verbal. A primary focus of the role will be to provide administration support to the general manager and reception / information kiosk cover during staff absence. Data entry functions will also be required to update spreadsheets and databases that record statistical data for reporting and funding application purposes.

To be successful in this role you will need to be well organised, with an ability to prioritise and deal with multiple tasks while maintaining high levels of accuracy. You will also enjoy responsibility and be proactive in dealing with issues to deliver quality outcomes.

Essential requirements for the position are:

  • Capacity to "hit the ground running"
  • Solid all-round office administration experience
  • A team player with a positive attitude / disposition
  • Proven experience and accuracy in data entry
  • Competent computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Outlook
