The role

A great opportunity has become available for a Customer Care and Retention Operator role for Asteron Life in Wellington. This role is a permanent part-time (30 hours per week) where you will be on a rotating roster of Monday – Friday between 8am – 8pm.

Key Responsibilities

• Treat each customer call as an opportunity to add value to the customer and the company
• Use retention techniques to retain and assist customers who are considering ending their policy or struggling with payment
• Use interviewing techniques to perform customer research interviews to gain customer feedback
• Pursue first call resolution at the time of the call fully utilising products & process knowledge
• Building positive relationships with internal and external customers
• Taking responsibility to keep up to date with product knowledge, processes, issues and changes.

Skills and experience

• Previous experience in insurance, customer service or contact centre is ideal for this position.
• Exposure and understanding of the sales process
• General understanding of insurance
• Relationship building, customer service and communication skills
• Flexibility on the hours
