The Waikato Breast Cancer Research Trust (WBCRT) is a small but passionate team dedicated to making a difference for women diagnosed with breast cancer through clinical trials research and through the Waikato Breast Cancer Register.

We are looking for a flexible, energetic all-rounder to provide us with administrative support.

 This role has two key components;  

 Administrative Assistant - personal in this aspect of the role you’ll support Ian Campbell (Surgeon) with Waikato Breast Cancer Research Trust (WBCRT) and Waikato District Health Board (WDHB) and academic work. Tasks include scheduling, mail and email prioritisation for academic activities as well as committee roles/responsibilities. This role also supports the WBCRT Secretary and other WBCRT staff with general administrative tasks. 

 Administrative Assistant - fundraising this component requires strong initiative and a passion for our cause, to assist with raising funds (and our profile) to support ongoing research. Tasks include assisting with Trust fundraising events as well as liaising with and providing support to other individuals/groups and supporters who fundraise for the WBCRT. You’ll maintain the donor database, and the WBCRT website so comfort around Social Media is helpful to get our messages out there.

 To be successful you’ll have;

  • previous experience as a Personal Assistant/Office Administrator experience at a moderate/high level and/or relevant qualification
  • experience in events management, fundraising and/or marketing administration at a moderate/high level
  • excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • ability to build sustainable working relationships with people at all levels internally and externally
  • strong motivation and be able to work independently and as part of a small team
  • effective written and oral communication
  • exemplary planning and organising skills with excellent time management and prioritisation
  • competent user status in the Microsoft Suite of programmes and be proficient in typing and data entry activities
  • a high degree of integrity and confidentiality
