The New Zealand Customs Service protects and promotes New Zealand through world class border management. We promote New Zealand's international trade, collect Crown revenue, and enforce the law by identifying and seizing prohibited imports and exports. We also make sure that lawful travellers and items can move across our border as smoothly and efficiently as possible.

We are seeking a highly experienced Executive Assistant to support a newly created programme team responsible for building the services capability to make NZ even safer.  You’ll have a broad range of administrative skills, having supported a senior manager or managers and have an interest in joining and exciting project environment.

Your responsibilities in this role will include:

  • Providing day-to-day administrative support to the Group Manager and Service Development Programme team
  • Being the “go-to” person for all enquiries relating to the programme and building strong relationships across the business.
  • Undertaking all project administration tasks for the programme

To be considered for this role you will have:

  • Experience in an administrative support role including diary, budget and travel management
  • Some project administration experience, including project scheduling and reporting desirable.
  • A high degree of proficiency in the use of MS Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel and Powerpoint, Visio & MS Project
  • The proven ability to work well both individually and as part of a team
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
