About MSD

The Ministry of Social Development (MSD) is the lead agency for the social sector. MSD provides policy advice, and delivers social services and assistance to young people, working age people, older people, and families, whānau and communities. We work directly with New Zealanders of all ages to improve their social wellbeing.

About our Team

The EPMO enables the Ministry to look holistically across all projects and programmes to undertake decision-making that can’t be made when they are looked at in isolation. We provide P3M3 leadership to senior managers, SROs/Sponsors and practitioners across the Ministry. We have quickly established a good reputation within the Ministry for providing practical, pragmatic and on-point advice and guidance that contributes to the success of our project portfolio.

About the Role

The role of the Coordinator is to provide efficient and effective planning, coordination, administration and support for the EPMO. Key responsibilities include:

  • coordinating internal and external monitoring and reporting - covering portfolio performance, benefit realisation, and Treasury reporting requirements
  • assisting in the development of processes and the day to day operation of the EPMO function
  • providing guidance and advice to project and programme managers regarding methodology and process.
  • custodian of EPMO documentation, templates and the project portfolio masterlist.

Skills and Experience

To be successful in the role you will need:

  • demonstrated experience working in a (e)PMO or large, complex programme and a solid understanding of project and programme lifecycles
  • experience with analytical or other similar work that requires the distillation of data into information
  • strong influencing and relationship management skills and be able to quickly establish credibility and trust
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills, with good attention to detail.

If you have the necessary skills and experience, we want to hear from you!
