Punchbowl is an innovative kiwifruit packhouse and coolstore facility based in the peaceful rural South Auckland surroundings of Patumahoe. We are a leading, medium-sized kiwifruit business that grows, packs and stores kiwifruit and provides a full range of orchard services to our grower clients.
Reporting to the Orchard Manager, this is an opportunity for an experienced Orchard Supervisor to join our orchard team servicing our Kumeu-based orchards. You will assist the Orchard Manager to produce a high-quality fruit crop suitable for export and/or local markets.
Key responsibilities:
- Picking fruit
- Kiwifruit vine work including, but not limited to pruning, picking, girdling, vine work, training, leading, cutting, thinning
- Harvest preparation
- Recognise and report vine disease and pests
- Manage 5+ orchard pruning team members
- Report to the Orchard Manager on orchard work progress
- Communication with Growers
You will need:
- Experience in orchard/farm work
- Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time
- Ability to carry weighted Kiwifruit harness/bag on body for long periods of time
- Experience in managing orchard pruning teams
- Fluent understanding and communication of the English language
- A valid, NZ driver’s licence
- Own transport
- NZ citizenship or permanent residency
- Good standard of health and fitness
- Positive attitude and reliability
