Are you passionate about delivering ecological restoration with a community focus?
If so we invite you to apply for our Ecological Restoration Coordinator role at Community Waitakere; a community based organisation committed to a vision of thriving connected and sustainable West Auckland Communities.
This is a unique opportunity for someone to lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of Community Waitakere’s ecological restoration, maintenance and pest control programmes. You will apply your experience in these fields for both social and environmental outcomes.
You will have a current Growsafe handler’s certificate and potentially a tertiary qualification within environmental sciences. The role will be a combination of pest weed and animal control in the field as well as assisting the team in delivering environmental education and community engagement programmes around West Auckland.
Through these activities you will be developing relationships with local residents and other stakeholders to assist in furthering the reach of our projects.
A relevant tertiary qualification is preferred You will have a sound understanding of the bi-cultural foundation of Aotearoa and the ability to work in an inclusive, collaborative way which honours Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
For this role you must be eligible to work in New Zealand. Due to the nature of this role a Police background check will be carried out.
