  • We are looking for 2 Rangers to join our team in Masterton and Napier

We are looking for two rangers to join the community team in Masterton & Napier to facilitate conservation efforts alongside iwi, hapu and the community in the exciting post-settlement treaty environment.

 

The positions will lead the Department's work in meeting its treaty obligations and be involved in the wider conservation work programme in each district.

 

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate the ability to:

  • Work collaboratively with treaty partners and the wider community
  • Use sound judgement to identify opportunities
  • Analyse legislation and keep abreast of the changing political environment
  • Plan and facilitate joint initiatives including managing budgets
  • Measure the progress of initiatives and regularly report to DOC and treaty partners

 

The ability to maintain strong relationships, identify risks and work on solutions with others are essential.

 

Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory, including a valid work visa covering the whole period of employment if applying internationally.
