The Downer Open Space Management (OSM) team in Waitaki is currently seeking to appoint an Operations Supervisor.
The Operations Supervisor is responsible for the leadership, management and supervision of designated OSM teams carrying out maintenance activities on Downer contracted sites.

About the role:
You will be involved in the leadership, planning, organising, and delivery of OSM maintenance activities and you will need to ensure that all OSM maintenance activities are undertaken to schedule to ensure that work is completed to the satisfaction of clients and all targets around productivity, financial, quality and safety are met.
You are expected to work ‘hands on’ to ensure cover for the operations and to provide training, development and leadership for team members.
About you:
You will have experience in:
- Relevant qualification in Horticulture or Sports Turf
- Experience within the OSM industry and in the delivery of OSM contracts
- Experience in operational leadership of a service delivery team
- Experience, skills and understanding of aspects of business, including operation and financial
- Experience driving operational activities to ensure quality is achieved, work completed to schedule and rework is minimised
- Proven successful track record in identifying, researching and developing market place opportunities
- Proven successful track record in developing a culture that supports zero harm management, encouraging and rewarding excellence
- Strong commercial and financial acumen
- Clear demonstration of leadership behaviours that empower others
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral
- Strong Problem Solving skills and a ‘can-do’ attitude
- Proactive approach and a sense of urgency
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
- Full clean Class 1 driver’s license (Class 2 preferred)
