The wool business unit is NZ's largest wool broker, has a proud history of assisting growers in maintaining and improving the quality of flocks, in managing them year round for optimum wool production, and in preparing harvested fleece for the discerning eyes of buyers and processors.
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Wool Classer to join the PGG Wrightson Wool team in a full-time capacity. As our Wool Classer you will be responsible for a variety of duties including (but not limited to) ensuring wool is classed to industry standards, branding/loading/dispatching wool and bale sampling.
To be successful in this role, you will need the following:
- Previous wool classing experience; including strong and fine wool
- Classing certificate
- Understanding of the NZ Export Packaging standards and ISO 9002 requirements
- Empathy with the farming community
