The opportunity
We’re looking for an innovative person to join us as part of the southern sector ranger management team. You’ll have varied and wide ranging responsibilities for programmes of work across the southern sector network of Regional Parks, including management of plant and equipment, and operational maintenance and budget management. You’ll help lead the asset replacement program, manage the extensive network of walking and mountain bike tracks and track structures, car parks and roads across the Southern Regional Parks network.
You’ll also be leading a team of park rangers and administrators, working closely with in-house project leaders, contractors and other internal and external stakeholders.
About you
To be successful in this role, you’ll be able to bring proven leadership skills with experience in project management and delivery, park and land management and asset management.
You’ll be able to coach and provide direction, and bring with you top notch relationship building and communication skills.
An appropriate tertiary or recognised qualification will also be required.

This position is based at the southern sector office at Ardmore. However you will be required to work across the southern sector network of parks and be able to work weekends and public holidays on a duty standby roster system.
This position is deemed a safety sensitive position and will require pre-employment drug testing.
A current NZ driver's licence is also required for this position.
