An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Winemaker to join our winery team. 

The Assistant Winemaker will be involved in all aspects of winemaking in our cellars.  This is a very hands-on role, with growing responsibility over the short term, seen to be leading by example in the cellar duties, particularly as you will be working in a small team environment. The work can be repetitive and very physically demanding.  As a senior member of the cellar team, you will be required to oversee work carried out by junior team members.

The successful applicant must:

  • Possess a thorough understanding of the winemaking process;
  • Be fit and healthy, with the physical strength to meet the demands of the job;
  • Show an unwavering attention to detail;
  • Display a consistent and high rate of work output;
  • Have at least two years' of vintage experience;
  • Demonstrate strong numeracy and literacy skills;
  • Have the positive nature and reliability that is a must when working in a small, dedicated team.

Preference will be given to those applicants who:

  • Have a strong interest in wine;
  • Possess a relevant tertiary qualification;
  • Recognise the demands of working in a small team and can offer a willingness and ability to turn their hand to a wide variety of tasks within the business, including occasional face-to-face customer contact;
