With a network of 120 livestock agents throughout New Zealand we are proud to be NZ's largest privately owned livestock business.
In June last year we established ourselves in the South Island and this move has made us the second largest livestock business in NZ. We are looking at continuing with our growth strategy in the South Island and are now ready to take on a Trainee Representative to join our great team in Southland.
The successful candidate will be mentored by a Senior Representative to gain knowledge of the livestock industry for the first two years.

The successful candidate will be mentored by a Senior Representative to gain knowledge of the livestock industry for the first two years.
As a Livestock Trainee you will learn to:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with farmers
- Advise farmers about market trends and stock prices
- Buy and sell livestock on farm and at auctions on behalf of clients
- Auctioneer at sales
- Maintain and promote Carrfields livestock in the marketplace by delivering excellent service with integrity and professionalism
- Knowledge of stock breeds, stock classes and stock health
- An Agriculture or livestock based course would be an advantage
- Animal-handling skills
- Customer Service skills or the ability to build rapport with a range of people easily
- An eagerness to learn
- Good communication and record keeping
