We are a Ministry with a commitment to putting children and young people at the heart of everything we do and say.

We are seeking casual children’s workers in the Auckland area to provide transporting and support services to Tamariki and Rangatahi. The key tasks would include driving, minding tracking, escorting, mentoring and providing supervised access for children and young people.

The duties include:

  • Transporting of children and young people to and from school, activities or appointments.
  • Minding children and young people when they are not with their whanau.
  • Tracking  and monitoring of children and young people who are deemed at risk.
  • Escorting (with a social worker) young people to Court, appointments and residential placements.
  • Mentoring, one on one work with children and young people, assisting them to achieve specific goals.
  • Supervising their access with parents, whanau and/or siblings, and writing observational reports.

As a casual you may be called upon to work a shift during the period Monday to Sunday, from 7.30am and 7.30pm.  On some occasions we may ask you to work outside of these hours. Because our casual pool provides support when relief is required you may be called upon at short-notice.

We are looking for people who are able to work well with children and young people in a caring and responsible way.
