Detail information about job National Volunteer Project Manager. Terms and conditions vacancy

RMHC New Zealand supports families when their child is in a New Zealand hospital away from home.

We take care of the practical things in life so families can focus on their child staying in a hospital away from home. Each year we offer 3,700 families across New Zealand accommodation and support free of charge.  This helps to relieve stresses like paying for a place to sleep near the hospital, organising family meals and needing a friendly ear to listen on tough days.

Simply, we give families with a hospitalised child what they need most — each other.

An incredible opportunity has become available for a National Volunteer Project Manager to join our Auckland team on a part-time fixed-term basis to develop and implement the RMHC NZ Volunteer strategy and plan.  Initially the role is for a six month period but could extended if the need arises.  You will possess strong leadership skills, have an excellent customer service focus and have a passion and understanding of RMHC New Zealand’s Mission.

Reporting to the CEO, your role is to implement and deliver the strategic plan to bring awareness to the RMHC brand to be recognized as a preferred partner for community volunteers.  Excellent relationship building skills are a must!

To be considered for this role you will need:

  • To be a real go-getter who is passionate about delivery outcomes
  • Demonstrated experience in working at both a strategic and tactical level with the ability to work across all levels of the organization

  • A collaborative and innovative approach and a desire to be hands on - from strategy through to execution
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • To be tertiary qualified in people management or similar
  • At least 2-3 years management experience in an SME or not for profit organisation
