HIPPY Coordinator - Home Interaction Programme for Parents and Youngsters
MPHS Community Trust

We are seeking a dynamic HIPPY Coordinator to lead a team of tutors delivering the Home Interaction Programme for Parents and Youngsters (HIPPY) in Henderson South McLaren Park, Auckland.

MPHS Community Trust is the provider for this programme that prepares tamariki/children for school. Great Potentials Foundation supports this with access to the HIPPY curriculum which assists parents to become the child’s first teacher.

The HIPPY Coordinator is responsible for ensuring continued recruitment and retention of families on to the programme, supporting and training the HIPPY tutors.  

We are seeking someone with;

  • Strong leadership abilities
  • The desire to make a difference in the lives of tamariki/children
  • Experience working in a similar community development programme
  • Motivation and able to work autonomously
  • the ability to lead and provide quality mentoring to the tutors
  • the ability to relate to families in need while also representing MPHS and HIPPY in the wider community
  • excellent planning and organisational skills
  • A tertiary level qualification is a related field, i.e. education, social services, community work  
  • A passion for working with whānau in your community
  • Experience with working with young children
  • Experience in adult education
