The purpose of DISC Trust (The Rodger Wright Centre) is to promote safer drug use techniques throughout the majority of the South Island to improve the overall health status of intravenous drug users. As part of a highly successful network of organisations, DISC Trust has been part of the significant reduction of HIV, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C nationwide through the promotion of clean injecting equipment and the provision of harm reduction advice.
To continue their record of success in reducing harm, DISC Trust are looking to employ a Regional Manager to manage their 5 needle exchanges, Community Hepatitis C Clinic and 1 mobile outreach service.
What will you be doing in this role?
- Working strategically to provide leadership for the service
- Implementing plans to ensure that DISC achieves its safety objectives and continues to support the PWID community
- Working in partnership with the Board to promote and implement their vision
- Building and maintaining effective relationships to promote DISC Trust and widen support
- Ensuring that the Branches comply with relevant legislation, regulations and contractual obligations
- Effectively managing financial, operational and HR/H&S activities
- Ensuring that national consistency in service delivery, working within the NEST Best Practice Framework
- Promoting a peer led service
What will allow you to succeed?
- A strong understanding of the PWID community and a commitment to their health and wellbeing
- The ability to provide strong leadership, with an open and honest communication style and solid interpersonal skills
- Relevant qualification and experience in health, social services or relevant field
- Proven experience in driving service development, change management and quality systems
- Proven experience in developing and maintaining robust stakeholder relationships and dealing with public sector agencies
- Excellent financial management skills
- Knowledge of the Treaty of Waitangi and a strong cultural awareness
