With over 300 employees and around 6,000 volunteers the Blind Foundation is New Zealand's leading provider of services and support to people who are blind or have low vision. One of New Zealand's most trusted and iconic Not for Profit organisations, we need a Regional Leader to join us. You will help the organisation achieve our vision of a "life without limits" for New Zealanders who are blind or who have low vision.

Leading a team of regional Recreation and Volunteer Coordinators and Recreation Advisors, you will be charged with bringing the life enrichment strategy to life; developing plans to mobilise volunteers, and community resources to achieve the Blind Foundation's vision of "a life without limits" for our clients. This leadership role is critical for seeing a number of improvements and changes implemented across the region and organisation.

We are looking for a collaborative leader with:

  • solid team leadership and people skills to effectively lead a team, as well as implement improvement projects and initiatives
  • understanding and experience in leading life enrichment programmes (recreation, social activities, peer support, personal development)
  • a passion for people, and experience with volunteers and community resources
  • a drive for achievement, and delivering results in a service setting
  • a high level of motivation to add value, and contribute to a worthwhile cause. Whilst experience in disability is not essential, having an empathy and interest in our cause is.

This part-time role is based in our Wellington office, and will require some travel around the region.
