Duties
- caring for young people on a daily basis
- engage young people in interventions by supporting them to make positive changes in all areas of their lives
- connectedness to whanau and whakapapa is encouraged and supported
Skills and experience
Some of the work can be quite challenging so you will need to have resilience and passion for working with youth, be a flexible person with a positive attitude and exhibit the ability to build strong professional relationships with young people, whanau/families, staff and service providers
- A formal qualification in human services (or currently studying towards one)
- A passion for working with young people and a belief that all young people deserve the opportunity to grow and learn
- Previous experience and skills working with young people is highly desirable
- To be culturally responsive and have an understanding of Te Ao Maori
- Knowledge of Kaupapa Maori and/or Whānau Ora approach
- A current full clean driver’s licence, and
- A current 1st Aid Certificate is desirable.
