About the role

This is a role on multiple 24/7 residential sites. The services provides a supportive living environment where clients are encouraged to lead their own recovery by identifying opportunities to be involved with and to contribute to the community, to work towards building community support networks, including their family / whanau and other significant people.

You'll support clients to achieve the maximum level of autonomy and or independence and to lead the life they want to lead. Our staff work to foster hope, identify strengths and develop resilience recognizing that these are key components to the approach taken to support clients and their family / whanau with their recovery. You'll join clients on their recovery journey, providing a safe environment for our clients and supporting them with their goals and daily tasks.

Joining our multi disciplined team, you'll be working in a positive environment. You'll be working across a 24/7 roster, as required, this will include weekends, overnight awakes, mornings and afternoon shifts.

Who we're looking for

Ideal candidate will be confident in carrying out activities of daily living and personal care, be able to implement best practice interventions and rehabilitation strategies and support service users to maintain and improve communication, behaviour, mobility, continence and activities of daily living.

We are looking for someone who is positive, flexible, vibrant, confident and compassionate to work in our service.

You'll naturally be a problem solver, quick thinker and enjoy connecting with the community. You'll use your non judgemental attitude and belief to encourage clients to change and grow.

What you need:

• It's desirable that you'll have a level 4 or 5 qualification in Mental Health and Addiction, however if you're passionate about our organisation and you're willing to work towards a qualification we'll support you as much as we can
• It's essential that you have a full New Zealand driver's licence
• Strong computer skills, a 'can-do' attitude and be able to demonstrate strong personal and professional boundaries
• Demonstrated commitment to recovery model
• Demonstrated commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi and culturally safe practice
