THE POSITION

Reporting to the CEO, this new role provides leadership and empowering management of the Community Funding Unit and their community funding processes, reporting, engagement and relationship management activities. Working in close partnership with the Strategy and Innovation Manager, this role ensures Foundation North’s funding approach is responsive to community needs and aspirations, supports initiatives that contribute to the Foundation’s vision and ensures that a more fluid and flexible grantmaking practice supports innovation.

The position supports a team of 9 and is a member of the Leadership Group, charged with delivering the Foundation’s strategy, the Māori, Pacific and Diversity strategies. As a member of the Leadership Group, the role contributes to the strategic planning and decision making of Foundation North and facilitates the preparation of reporting for the Board and its various committees, in particular the Māori and Pacific Committee and Grants Committee.

You’ll bring to this key role in a modern and innovative organisation, highly developed experience and effectiveness in: team leadership and motivation including supporting, enabling, and coaching skills; strategic business planning and management; change facilitation; communication and engagement with a wide range of stakeholders building and maintaining high trust relationships.
