The Kaitakawaenga is a key position of Te Kupenga Whakaoti Mahi Patunga ensuring strong, reliable and enduring connection between the organisation and its members. 

Working from home, the position:

  • provides direct support to and liaison with all members allowing them to strengthen their own services, practices, development and sustainability;
  • supports and encourages members to participate in activities and dialogues which foster stronger regional networks and which maintains a sense of ownership by members of the national network;
  • ensures that Te Kupenga's work and activities is informed by and responsive to the needs and aspirations of its member agencies;
  • facilitates information sharing and dialogue with and between members in order to inform the national advocacy work of the Kaiarahi and Partnership Roopū.

The successful application will have a genuine commitment to working with member agencies in the field of family/whānau violence intervention and prevention and will be able to demonstrate:

  • a sound understanding and gendered analysis of family violence;
  • personal and professional commitment to working with Te Tiriti based organisations;
  • excellent communication skills and outstanding organisation skills (including advanced computer/IT skills);
  • the ability to think about the "bigger picture" for addressing family violence in Aotearoa.
