The School of Social Sciences is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified Lecturer in History.

This position will contribute to the School's undergraduate and graduate teaching, postgraduate thesis supervision and administration requirements of the History Programme.

Applications are especially welcome from historians early in their academic careers and with expertise in any field of history. Responsibilities of the successful applicant will include establishing and maintaining a productive research programme, teaching undergraduate and postgraduate papers related to history, supervising postgraduate student research, and contributing to the administration of the degree programme.

Applicants must have a PhD in History, experience in undergraduate teaching and a record of research publications in keeping with the position of a Lecturer.

Current salary range for Lecturers is NZ$74,034 to $89,163 per year depending on qualifications and experience.
