About the business
We are now seeking Flight Instructors to join L3 Airline Academy at Hamilton Airport. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading provider of airline pilot training, that is committed to delivering professional flight-training to aspiring pilots from around the world.

About the role
From day one, you will contribute towards the trainees journey to become a pilot by providing the safe and efficient operation of company aircraft and the effective delivery of ground-based lessons.
More than 300 trainees are selected each year with very little or no flying experience, they are then trained from ab-initio through to CPL/IR or MPL standards under a number of regulatory frameworks including NZCAA and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
In the past 12 months, 22 Flight Instructors gained employment in the airlines after being employed at L3 for an average of four years. You can expect to gain up to 500 hours of flying experience annually and have the opportunity to receive ongoing upgrades and development in a safe and rewarding environment.
Skills and experience

To be considered for this opportunity, you must meet the following requirements:
Essential:
- The unrestricted right to live and work in NZ
- NZ CPL and Instrument Rating
- C Category Instructor Rating
- Current NZ CAA Class 1 medical
- Multi Engine Instrument Rating
Preferred:
- Hold NZ ATPL exam passes
- B Category Flight Instructor Rating
- 200 hours IFR experience
- 350 Instructor hours
- Night Flight Instructor Privileges
- Terrain and/or basic mountain flying Instructor privileges
