Our amazing Community Support Coordinator is going on Maternity leave and we need the next bright star to fill her shoes for the next 12 months. Working closely with the Community team and our residents this is a very busy, challenging and rewarding role where no two days, or situations are the same.

Working with eight villages within Canterbury, this role is critical to our operation and you will be responsible for key relationships with many of our stakeholders. Key duties may include:

  • Pastoral care in the form of addressing any disputes or concerns within our communities – these vary in complexities and seriousness
  • Relationship building and maintaining relationships on varying levels with our residents, tertiary partner, guardians external services, security and internal staff
  • Dealing with incidents and acting as an escalation point within our operating guidelines while knowing when to escalate and consult with internal or external parties
  • Reallocation of rooms and ceasing contracts within pastoral care parameters
  • Make sound, educated and feasible decisions while always being solutions focused and considering all factors
  • Ambassador for regulations and rules of the villages.  Provide new residents with the expectations of behavior as part of their induction
  • Administration
  • Attending any significant events throughout the year

  • Experience working with young adults
  • Have a sound understanding and experience with pastoral care
  • Be able to display empathy and nous throughout your decision making process and stakeholder engagement
  • Able to work at pace while making informed and concise decisions
  • Great sense of humour and enjoy working as part of a large operation
  • Experience working in accommodation, hospitality or education environments would be ideal
  • Outstanding communication skills and ability to build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
