Analyst - Governance & Investor Oversight

My client is a long standing and highly regarded business that provides a full range of financial, supervisory and trust services to individuals and the corporate sector. Offering an array of financial / legal solutions to meet client needs, they are uniquely placed to provide professional and impartial advice primarily within the Private Wealth, Securities Services and Corporate Trust space. They are looking for three Analysts to join their Governance and Investor Oversight division.

The Opportunity

You will be part of a team responsible for delivering relationship management and contractual services to clients. As an Analyst you will work closely with the Client Managers in providing client relationship, monitoring and review services to both supervised and non-supervised clients to ensure the business has an intelligence-led, risk-based approach to managing its clients by understanding the potential harms they present to investors and other stakeholders.

The ability to liaise with clients on a professional basis while fulfilling the Company’s statutory obligations is a must.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analytical Support - Support Client Managers and clients to understand and comply with relevant regulatory and other external reporting obligations, This includes reviewing financial statements and conducting various background research as required.
  • Risk and Compliance - Review and monitor client compliance and risk reporting with the ability to identify trends that represent risk across a portfolio
  • Client Management - Assisting the Client Managers to develop and nurture constructive relationships with clients to understand their business, changes and risks to investors and other stakeholders
  • General - Keep abreast of risk management and operational best practice expected of supervised entities whilst considering development of risk management and process improvement

Skills and Experience

  • You will have at least 3-4 years’ experience working in a similar role
  • A big-4 first leaver with significant experience and exposure to Financial Services / Wealth Management organisations
  • Sound understanding of the regulatory environment under the Financial Markets Conduct Act, financial sector, markets and products
  • Very strong ability to not only add value to portfolios by identifying risk - but to effectively communicate this to the key stakeholders in a timely fashion
  • A strong team player with strong communication skills
  • A healthy degree of professional scepticism, inquiry, curiosity and alertness to risk whilst holding a high degree of empathy to consider other view points
  • Openness to learn and use new systems and software which can assist productivity and quality of information
  • High level of motivation to continually improve own skills and knowledge
