The Generation Programme – Whakatipua to tatou iwi (Act upon Growing our People) is the Eastland forestry industry training solution to the current challenges it faces in attracting, recruiting, training and retaining its work force; particularly with regard to the projected labour growth required to meet the increased harvest over the next 2-5 years.
Position Title
Generation Programme Manager
Position
1-year fixed term position
Purpose
To drive, manage and deliver the Generation Programme, industry training & work placement programme.
Manage and implement a promotional & PR campaign to potential clients including school students, general public and national audiences
Working with education, training providers and employers to bridge the gap, and link up the labour supply .
To ensure pastoral care of the clients is a priority with clear career pathways and competent trainers and employers.
Skills & Experience
- Highly organised, with good time and task management skills; project management experience.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and demands from a range of stakeholders.
- Self-managing, adaptable and responsive to change.
- Able to quickly identify, establish and build strong working relationships, and preferably has previous relationship management experience.
Preferred:
- Ideally has some understanding of the needs of the regional forestry industry.
- A broad/general educational background with relevant/equivalent experience.
- Understanding of the role of government, and its agencies, in the Tairawhiti region’s economic development.
Essential:
- A good understanding of the National Qualifications Framework, the industry training environment and are essential.
