We invite application from registered Psychologists or Special Education Advisers for a position based in our Nelson office.
The Ministry of Education - Learning Support is seeking a candidate who is able to demonstrate knowledge, experience, ability and skills in supporting children and young people with challenging behavioural needs.
The successful applicant will work in a multi-disciplinary collaborative team providing assessment, intervention, training and upskilling to increase adult capability, and advising and supporting schools and early learning centres to support students. Strong teaming skills and the ability to work collaboratively is required. A knowledge of Children's Teams would be beneficial.
An awareness and sensitivity to cultural and ethnic diversity, a strong commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi and the Māori education strategy 'Ka Hikitia', are essential.
Psychologist applicants must be registered or eligible for registration with the New Zealand Psychologist Registration Board.
We welcome applications from Teachers with post graduate qualifications (complete or underway), relevant experience in supporting students with challenging behaviour, to work as Special Education Advisers.
A current driver's licence is required. The Ministry of Education has an equal opportunities policy.
